What is Theta Tau?

We are a Professional Engineering Fraternity whose primary purpose is to develop and maintain a high standard of professional interest among its members, and to unite them in a strong bond of fraternal fellowship.

What is a Greek? What is a Greek Organization?

Greek organizations are simply fraternities or sororities. They are called "Greek" because the Greek alphabet is often used to name such organizations. A "Greek" is someone that is a member of a fraternity or sorority.

What is Rush?

Rush is the time during the school year when fraternities and sororities become acquainted with students that might wish to join. The Brothers of our Fraternity spend the Rush period trying to get to know prospective members. At the end of the Rush period, a student must receive a bid to be invited to become a pledge. These invitations (or "bids") to pledge are handed out to students privately.

How do you get a bid?

To qualify for a bid, you must attend 1 Information Meeting and at least 1 Rush Event. However, it is recommended that you try and attend as many Rush Events as possible. Rushing not only allows us to get to know you, but allows you to get to know us too!

What's next?

A student that receives a bid may then choose to pledge to the fraternity, during which time the student is involved with various activities set forth by the Pledge Instructor. The pledge education process is about 6-8 weeks long. At the end of the process, if the student has been successful in all aspects of the pledging process, they will be initiated as a brother.
